ST504 · Vertical load

Smart vertical-load hanger with stacked weights

A smart, communication-enabled vertical-load module that applies a purely gravitational load to an experimental structure and measures the resulting weight force with its built-in load cell. The hanger attaches to a node disc or a load support via the click system and is identified automatically by the Sangari software. Three 20 N weights stack on the hanger to vary the load in discrete steps, and the reading is shown on the local OLED as well as in the software. Used with truss, bridge and beam experiments on the ST500 frame.
ST504 — Vertical load hanger
Features
  • Applies a purely vertical weight force to truss, bridge and beam setups
  • Hangs from a node disc or a dedicated load holder via click system
  • Stacked weights allow discrete load variation — up to 3 weights
  • Force measured by the built-in cell and displayed on the module
  • Plug&Play identification in the host software — no cabling
Compatible experiments
  • ST551 — forces in a planar truss
  • ST553 — parabolic arch bridge (centre load)
  • ST554 — three-hinged arch (centre load)
  • ST555 — Gerber beam (centre load on the suspended beam)
