ST506 · Distributed Line Load

Smart line-load module for distributed loading of bridges and beams on the ST500 frame

Three instrumented line-load elements that clip onto the roadway of a bridge or beam experiment to apply a distributed load over a finite span. Each element reports its position along the roadway — encoded as a 4-bit Gray code — and its applied force to the ST500 host software. Multiple line loads can be placed end-to-end, or combined with ST505 point loads, to vary the loading pattern and study support-force response and bending behaviour as a function of load distribution.
ST506 — Distributed line load module
Features
  • Three instrumented line-load elements for distributed loading of bridges and beams
  • Each element reports its own position along the roadway via a 4-bit Gray-code reader
  • Position shown directly on the element; force shown in the Sangari software
  • Combine with ST505 point loads for mixed single/distributed loading patterns
  • Snap-in mounting — no cabling, no configuration
Compatible experiments
  • ST552 — suspension bridge
  • ST553 — parabolic arch bridge
  • ST554 — three-hinged arch
  • ST555 — Gerber (cantilever) beam
